Funding sources: How to Approach them Effectively

Tuesday, February 7th from 7-10 p.m.
Portluck Park Portable Room

Fee:  $20  Registration Deadline: February 3rd

Instructor John Binstead, an international consultant, former Chief Operating Officer of the Vancouver Foundation and current board member of the Salt Spring Island Foundation, will guide you through the maze of funding sources.

Join fellow island volunteers and learn from the invaluable experience of being on the receiving side of grant applications.  Understand and approach funding sources with the tools and confidence needed for best possible outcomes.

Registration forms can be downloaded online at www.crd.bc.ca/ssiparc or obtained from the PARC office Monday - Friday from 9 am - 4 pm.  The course fee must be included with your registration.

Financial Accountability - Volunteer Board Members: What You Need To Know

Tuesday, February 28th from 7-10 p.m.

Did you know that as a volunteer Board member you have a fiduciary responsibility to manage the assets of your organization?  You are personally accountable for the financial oversight that guides the viability of the organization you govern. 

Instructor Terry Bolton is Treasurer for the Salt Spring Island Foundation, and has 30 years of experience working in the oil industry as an engineer responsible for the technical and financial aspects of projects.  Join other volunteers as he helps you gain a broader knowledge of the key elements of financial statements and budgets for volunteer organizations.
