Brown Bag Networking Lunches are a great opportunity to meet with VCR and other community organizations to discuss key issues on all aspects of volunteer management on Salt Spring Island. Come share your success stories, challenges and questions.

“The VCR BB are very useful because of the networking and support of other community charitable organizations.  It is time well spent where you can share ideas and discuss solutions to similar types of challenges we all face as non profits.”

Erika Ponsford, Salt Spring Therapeutic Riding Association

“VCR’s Brown Bag Networking Lunches are an incredible resource for anyone who works with  volunteers on Salt Spring.  These workshops have given me new insight into my work with volunteers, and helped me to stay abreast of trends in the volunteer management field.  They have also helped me build connections to many of my fellow professionals, and introduced me the work of many volunteer-run organizations across the island.  They are fun and casual, yet thoughtful and inspiring meetings.  I am always interested in seeing what topic will come up next!”

Nikky McCarvill, Librarian, Salt Spring Public Library

“What a great concept!  Over the years since VCR first launched these sessions, they have been rewarding and fun to attend. Keeping in mind everyone’s busy schedules, the time commitment is only an hour. It is a very welcoming space where we can share ideas, ask questions or just confirm shared challenges inherent with being involved in a volunteer organization.”
