Salt Spring Island Public Library Circulation Desk Volunteers

Circulation Desk Volunteers

Circulation desk volunteers are needed to work at the front desk of the library, assisting patrons with their accounts and checking Library materials in and out.  Shifts are 4 hours in length. Regular weekly shifts are available, as well as spare positions, being available to fill in when regular volunteers are unavailable.

No experience is necessary and on-job training of our circulation system and daily procedures will be provided.  Volunteers should be reliable, be able to get along with all kinds of people and have the ability to problem-solve.  An interest in working with the public and an enjoyment of books and reading are assets.  We can generally accommodate volunteers with many interests in the library.

This is a great chance to make new friends, work with books and other library materials, and get free cookies!

Volunteers generally work one shift per week, either morning from 9:15 am to 1:15 pm, or afternoons 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
