There are many opportunities in the library for volunteers who like working with children, from StoryTime and ToddlerTime, to our Spring and Summer Break Camps, to our Youth Writing Workshop.  Previous experience working with children is desirable, and a criminal record check is required.  Training and ongoing support is provided.

Share your energy and climbing skills with like-minded islanders.  The Wall Climbing Gym at Salt Spring Island Community Services is in immediate need of up to 10 volunteers as voluntary supervisors for public climbing and group climbing sessions (i.e., school groups and birthday parties).  Duties include collecting fees, supervision/safety, and belaying (safety roping).
