Salt Spring Literacy Volunteer Tutors

Salt Spring Literacy offers free one-on-one tutoring in a variety of areas including basic literacy, numeracy, English as a Second Language, computers, support to young emerging readers and a friendly readers’ service for Seniors.

Group Van Activity Program- SSICS Seniors Wellness Program

SSICS Seniors Wellness Program is seeking volunteer drivers for its Group Van Activity Program. Using the SSICS van or their own vehicles, volunteer drivers help seniors maintain their independence and dignity by driving them to and from community events. From time to time there will be off island events.

Various – Extended Care and Greenwoods/Braehaven

The Lady Minto Hospital Auxiliary has an ongoing need for volunteers to work at Extended Care, Greenwoods and Braehaven assisting the elderly residents. This may be a matter of serving tea, manning a reception desk, arranging flowers or helping with special meals and activities.
