Salt Spring Island Emergency Social Services (SSIESS) mission is to provide a community based provincial emergency response program for those impacted by emergency or disaster. Our goal is to help people begin to re-establish themselves as quickly as possible after a disaster or emergency, including meeting their basic survival needs, re-uniting families and providing accurate up to date information.

Group Van Activity Program- SSICS Seniors Wellness Program

SSICS Seniors Wellness Program is seeking volunteer drivers for its Group Van Activity Program. Using the SSICS van or their own vehicles, volunteer drivers help seniors maintain their independence and dignity by driving them to and from community events. From time to time there will be off island events.

The Food Bank – Salt Spring Island Community Services

The Food Bank is looking for new volunteers to add to our great group of people. We are a dedicated group of volunteers who help the community by providing pre-packaged food items to the public every Tuesday.
